Carla Smith M. Ed., RN is an author, entrepreneur, self-esteem coach, & advocate for individuals with disabilities. Her passion is to inspire young women who are or have been victims of domestic abuse like herself. Carla is the Co-Owner/COO of Dynasty Care Services, LLC, an adult day center, counseling agency, and parent’s night out program. She is also an independent nurse contractor for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Carla began her career in nursing at 17 years of age by obtaining her CNA certificate while in high school. She has a vast knowledge of the healthcare field. She has held nursing positions in long-term care, hospice, LTAC’s, hospitals, mental health, and the private sector.
Carla has a B.A. in Sociology, M.Ed. in Adult Education, and an Associate Degree in Nursing. She is currently attending Southern Nazarene University to obtain her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy to prepare for LPC licensure. While working at a telecommunications company after receiving her M. Ed. she decided that it was time to stop living paycheck to paycheck and I stepped out on faith, sold her home, and entered into nursing school. Although the years of nursing school brought, homelessness, living in poverty, and time away from her daughter she continued to press on.
She has faced many obstacles and now openly shares her life experiences so that she may inspire and free other women to embrace their heartaches, erase any fears, heal, and stand in God’s purpose. She genuinely believes that despite how we continue to sabotage our growth and progress and avoid the unknown God continues to propel us to our destiny!
Carla currently resides in the Oklahoma City area and is married to her childhood sweetheart and best friend Ricky. They have two daughters; Alexis, 17 and Kennedeigh, 8. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
